At Cobra Drilling, we rely very heavily on local training and the development of local talent to ultimately drive our drilling activities. Throughout each year, we conduct training programs to bring locals aboard and give them high paying jobs to help them feed their families. This has been part of our success over the past decade.

Training, Aboriginal Employment - and so much more in and around the Ring of Fire!

At Cobra, we pride ourselves in making sure that our employment levels remain as consistent as possible for our workers. We provide a safe yet productive environment for all our workers and maintain some of the strictest policies in the business on the use of drugs and/or alcohol on the site. We offer very comprehensive training and benefit packages for all workers and encourage locals to apply for our jobs when available.

Recently, (January 5/6th, 2011) Cobra Drilling held another training session - with the emphasis being fall arrest / restraint,WHIMIS and First Aid- more than 15 people attended this session at the Travelodge Inn on Arthur Street in Thunder Bay. This two day refresher course was an excellent opportunity for existing employees to receive mandatory course participation - combined with a few "new hires" who also sat in on the instruction.

As with all of our health and safety programming, Jake at Intolla Safety conducted this program and did an excellent job once again.
